Bangalore popularly known as the silicon valley of India lies in the state of Karnataka, south of India. Geographically, it is located at an altitude of 920 m from the sea level and lies between 12º 8’ N Latitude and 77º 37’ E Longitude with an area expanse of 366 sq km encompassing an estimated population of 5.2 million. Yelahanka and Devanahalli are centres for booming Real Estate market. This unprecedented growth of the metropolis has resulted in the proposal for creation of Greater Bangalore Authority• by merging several city municipal councils and a town municipal council along with 111 villages with the Bangalore Mahanagar Palike (BMP).
